Cloud Streets - September 27, 2003

While driving out to Copperbreaks State Park for participation in the "Star Walk," my girlfriend and I saw this beautiful formation of clouds, so we had to snap a few pictures with a digital camera.  Under certain conditions (a shearing in wind velocity with altitude) cumulus clouds may be arranged in "streets" or bands of cumulus clouds which are parallel to the wind direction at that altitude.
Cloud streets, if they form under the right conditions, can have a remarkable periodicity and symmetry.
