The Milky Way in Cygnus

Cygnus - Summertime - Nebulosity

The Milky Way in Cygnus

Lots of goodies in this section of the sky.  At top is emission nebula IC1396 in Cepheus.  There is the North America and Pelican Nebulae next to the bright star Deneb.  The Butterfly Nebula, IC 1311 and 1318, surround Sadr or Gamma Cygni.  And the Veil Nebula is somewhat visible here just to the left of center.  At the bottom of the image is the Coathanger cluster (Cr. 399).
The bright star to the right is Vega in the constellation Lyra.
